Communication with Paul was excellent right from booking through to our departure. Paul had lots of info to share with us which was very helpful. . The house was spotlessly clean and had everything we could have wished for - including ice cubes in the huge fridge freezer which we truly appreciated as we had a week of 30+ temperatures. The kitchen is fantastic - well provisioned with every kitchen utensil and gadget, including condiments, coffee, tea etc. The beds are very comfy and the bathrooms are modern with great showers and water pressure. Parking at the rear of the home was a plus. Location is second to none being an easy 10 minute walk from the town square. The swimming pool is smallish but perfectly adequate, very clean and much appreciated in the heat. Paul and Leanne had left us a delicious bottle of white wine to welcome us and later in the week brought us a gift of another bottle of champagne when they found out we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. It was nice that the owner, Leanne popped by to see if we needed anything. Would highly recommend without hesitation. It’s probably the best house rental we have had anywhere in the world! Thanks to Paul and Leanne and their two great kids (who made us a happy anniversary card!)

This is a stunning property, beautiful and amazingly situated. Every morning we’d walk about 5 mins into the centre of Sarlat for a morning coffee, spend the day by the pool then back into town for the evening .

The house is Modern and comfortable & although central feels so private and quiet. We’re a family with 2 girls of 7 & 17 and it was perfect for them both -

Would definitely recommend, this property is a real treasure.

Having stayed in this area last year but 15 mins drive away, we were keen to return and stay in the center as we loved it so much. I feel lucky we found Leanne and Paul's house which ticked all the boxes for us on the holiday we've just returned from!

If you've not been to Sarlat you're in for a treat - it's a stunning, magical town with a huge choice of restaurants, bars and treat stops! We loved having the option of walking into town to eat and wander in the evenings, or BBQ at the house and then walk in for desserts/ coffee's etc. And it genuinely is a very easy 5-10 minute gentle walk (and I'm 7 months pregnant!).

The house itself is beautiful, in a quiet residential area that feels safe and secure whilst being just a few minutes walk to boulangeries and a supermarche, as well as a cinema, antique shops, small bistros and then the main town.

By car there are a few much larger supermarches very close by, and many of the beautiful places to visit are within 15-30 mins drive making this an ideal base if you're visiting the Dordogne.

The house has everything you could need for your stay; the beds are very comfortable with beautiful bedding giving them a hotel feel, the towels are thick and fluffy and there are extra provided specifically for the pool which was a bonus. Everything was spotless and the kitchen was equipped with plenty of good quality dinnerware and cutlery which made cooking/ BBQ'ing a nice experience. There was plenty of hot water and the showers were nice and powerful!

We took our 2 small dogs and they were perfectly safe in the garden and pool area (gated separately for extra security which we appreciated), and as town was so close we were happy to leave them for a couple of hours if they were tired from a day out with us! If you have dogs and haven't taken them to France before, it couldn't be easier and they were welcome to sit in every single restaurant we visited as well as some attractions such as Les Jardins de Marqueyssac.

The house is a perfect size for a family or couple and the garden is beautiful and serene. A couple of nights we were so tired we were happy relaxing in front of the tv - it really felt like a home away from home. My husband and I both took our work laptops as needed to check-in a couple of times, and the wifi was excellent.

Leanne and Paul were excellent hosts and always on hand without ever intruding - we were really pleased to meet them. Thank you again, we would return in a heartbeat!

This idyllic house is full of French charm and character, set in a beautiful garden with a wonderful heated pool and decked area. The sunbeds are very comfortable and look brand new as does the BBQ . The house was spotless and very well maintained as were the gardens and patio area. The bed was so comfortable as were the pillows, beautiful bed linen and large fluffy white towels. The house is tastefully decorated and felt like home immediately...the photographs do not do it justice. The garden is well positioned to catch the afternoon and evening sun , a lovely place to sit with a glass of wine after a busy day sightseeing. The kitchen has excellent facilities, everything you need to cook a family meal and is such a charming room. The house itself is a short stroll from the center of Sarlat, probably the most beautiful Medieval town I have ever seen. Sarlat itself has a huge choice of bars and restaurants, we enjoyed discovering the hidden restaurants down the many alleyways hidden from view. It was lovely to be able to make a last minute decision of an evening to wander into the town for a bite to eat or a glass of wine, without worrying about parking or whether you would find a table somewhere....there are plenty of choices. The house also has good WI-FI and some English channels on the TV if required. The owners Paul and Leanne were so accommodating during the whole process. I have never experienced such wonderful hosts. We were given information on places to visit, restaurant recommendations, shopping recommendations, excellent directions upon our arrival....they made the whole process so easy. I would also like big thank you to Leanne who also went out of her way to buy some groceries for us for the night of our arrival. I had contacted Paul and Leanne to let them know due to a meeting in Belgium we would be arriving very late, Leanne immediately contacted me offering to pick up some supplies to tide us over until we had a chance to go shopping.....Thank you, we had a delightful supper that night washed down with some lovely French wine...and a thank you to Paul for the French ale, my husband was a happy man.

I would recommend this idyllic French house to anyone. It is perfectly situated to discover and explore the Dordogne, with excellent road links to many of beautiful villages along the river. We could not have picked a more beautiful house and location for our holiday. We will definitely be returning.
